REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

 

Mrs. Berger has several years of experience in environmental geologic consulting.  She has experience with all aspects of underground storage tank (UST) facilities that includes site assessments, UST removals and remediation, and installation and sampling of monitoring wells.  Specific projects include:

 

·         Conducted numerous Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) for a major Texas bank to assist in the due diligence phase of property transfers. Some of these projects required Phase II investigations that consisted of geoprobe borings, soil sampling, and additional review of regulatory data.

 

·         Project manager of several UST sites in the Houston area that were under the direct supervision of the TNRCC and termed State Lead Project.

 

·         Conducted an in-house ESA of a fuel oil pipeline in the Houston area for a major utility company. Specific activities included  review of permits, numerous aerial photographs, results of pipeline tightness testing, and a visual inspection of the entire pipeline, compressor stations, etc.

 

·         Project manager of several UST investigations at various sites in Texas for major oil companies.  Specific responsibilities included soil boring and monitor well installations, groundwater monitoring and sampling, aquifer testing, UST removals, permitting for disposal of wastewater and contaminated soil, and design and installation of remediation systems.

 

·         Prepared TNRCC and Federal NPDES permit applications.

 

·         Assisted in the sampling, permitting, and disposal of wastewater generated from firewater runoff at a large chemical fire site in East Houston.

 

·         Oversight supervisor for soil excavation and sampling of a film developing area inside the former office building of a major oil company.

 

·         Supervisor of newly hired geologists including field and office training and project management
