Jan. 1993 to Sept. 2000 -- Director, Safety, Health and Environmental
Main responsibility was to
direct Haltermann's efforts in Safety, Health and Environmental affairs,
including permitting, community outreach, compliance, training, employee health
and safety, MSDS's, security and emergency response. Haltermann's primary
liaison with regulatory agencies, community and NGO's. Additional responsibility of coordinating
the Company's ISO 9001 registration efforts was assumed mid-year 1994.
Haltermann's Responsible Care Coordinator and Code Steward for three of the six
codes of management practice. Leader in
several industry-wide initiatives, including CMA's TRANSCAER.
MAJOR
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Brought Haltermann to a
position of prominence (especially for a small company) to be known for its
Responsible Care efforts. Developed a very flexible air permit that allows
Haltermann to process over 1000 different compounds (in an EPA ozone
non-attainment area). Obtained ISO 9001certification in Dec. 1995 (recertified
in 1998). Successfully completed the very first CMA (now ACC) Management
Systems Verification review and in 1998 was first company to do it a second
time. Took Haltermann's Emergency Response capability from non-existent to
being one of the better trained plants in the Houston area. An active member of
the North Channel LEPC, chairing a number of subcommittees and serving as
Treasurer since 1995.

My responsibility was to
develop a reaction capability in a toll distillation company.
MAJOR
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
The successful operation of
reaction unit on several projects and developed initial cost modeling basis for
reaction business.

1991 -- HOWELL HYDROCARBONS AND CHEMICALS, INC., Channelview, TX.,
Vice-President and Plant Manager
My responsibility was to
coordinate efforts of all plant personnel (60+ people) to perform custom
chemicals manufacturing and reference fuels blending. Responsible for all in
plant activities (Operation, Maintenance, Technical Service, Laboratory and
Engineering). Made final decision of acceptability of all custom chemical
projects.
MAJOR
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Implemented Standard
Operating Procedures, Safety Regulations and plant Safety Committee. Obtained
grassroots air and wastewater discharge permits. Supervised construction and
engineering of two small crude distillation units, technical fuels blending
unit and a biological waste treatment plant. Member of LEPC and other community
groups. Provided leadership throughout the organization.
